Meet Our Doctor

Zhen Fan

Dr. Fan is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of vein diseases. Dr. Fan graduated with highest honor from University of Cincinnati for his undergraduate degree. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. Following his surgical training in Cincinnati, where he received Chief Resident of the year, he completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive surgery in Case Western University in Cleveland. Dr. Fan has been practicing medicine for 19 years. He is voted as the surgeon of the year (2021) at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. He currently serves as Chief of Surgery department in West Houston Medical Center of HCA.

Nicholai Stephens

Dr Nicholai Stephens is a board-certified general surgeon who has been practicing for over 10 years, most of that in the Houston area.  Having grown up in northern Texas, he moved to Houston to attend college at Rice University and medical school at University of Texas-Houston (McGovern) Medical School.  He then spent a five-year sojourn in Long Island, New York to complete his general surgery training at Nassau University Medical Center before returning to Houston to finish fellowships in Minimally Invasive-Bariatric surgery and Minimally Invasive-Colorectal surgery.  He has a passion for laparoscopic and robotic surgery, helping to minimize patients’ post operative pain and hasten recovery.  He has special interests in hernia repair, reflux surgery and colon surgery.  He and his wife Melissa call Houston home with their two girls, Paige and Hannah.
